Resumen
La libertad de cátedra es un derecho fundamental recogido en nuestra Constitución española de 1978. No obstante, la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, que cuenta con un campus universitario proyectado en toda España y parte del extranjero, y que dispone así de una muy peculiar organización administrativa que lo sustenta, podría dar cobertura a la existencia de particulares límites a tal derecho. Se analiza así esta peculiar organización territorial, su proyección en dos tipos o modalidades de profesores en la UNED, y la extensión de la libertad de cátedra en cada uno de estos dos tipos de profesores, los profesores de la sede central y los profesores tutores. El profesor de la sede central en nada parece que vea limitada su libertad de cátedra, la libertad de cátedra del profesor tutor sí se ve seriamente limitada
Academic freedom is a fundamental right in the 1978 Spanish Constitution. Nevertheless, The National Distance Education University, thanks to an extraordinary territorial organization based on just one campus designed for Spain and other countries supported by a special administrative organization, could create particulars limits to this right. Therefore, it is analysed this administrative organization, its introduction in two types or modalities of professors -the professors of the headquarters and the tutor- and the extension of academic freedom in each of these two types of professors. Professors of the headquarters do not have any limit in their academic freedom whereas tutors have severe limitations.
