Mallarmé était l'une des principales références du renouveau littéraire, artistique et culturel qui a conduit l'Espagne à la modernité du xxe siècle. Prenant comme point de départ l'hommage au poète dans le Jardin botanique de Madrid en 1923, cet article aborde la manière dont le texte poétique et la métaphore dans l'oeuvre de Mallarmé ont été décisifs pour la littérature espagnole
et la philosophie de l'un des principaux promoteurs la modernité en Espagne, José Ortega y Gasset.
Mallarmé was one of the main sources of the literary, artistic and cultural renewal which propelled Spain into the twentieth century. Beginning with the homage to the poet in the Botanical garden of Madrid in 1923, this article discusses how Mallarmé's poetic texts and his use of metaphor were crucial for Spanish literature and for the philosophy of one of the principal promoters of Spanish modernity, José Ortega y Gasset.
