Según datos de ACNUR, en 2020 se contabilizaron 138.600 menores no acompañados en el mundo y, según la FRA, en 2018, fueron 19.745 los meñores no acompañados que solicitaron asilo en la UE, lo que supone que uno de cada 10 niños que solicita asilo es un menor no acompañado. Estos datos no hacen mas que constatar la preocupante realidad de vulnerabilidad que las migraciones irregulares generan para los menores y a la que debe darse respuesta desde Europa, lugar de destino de muchos de estos MENA. Por ello, en el presente trabajo se pretende realizar un análisis de las iniciativas acometidas por instituciones y organismos internacionales en Europa, especialmente la UE y el Consejo de Europa, desde una óptica jurídica, con el fin de determinar si las respuestas dadas hasta ahora son suficientes o no lo son, y en este caso, intentar ofrecer opciones de futuro.

For this reason, this paper aims to analyse the initiatives undertaken by institutions and international organisations in Europe, especially within the framework of the EU and the Council of Europe, from a legal perspective, in orderto determine whetherthe responses given so far are sufficient or not, and in this case, to try to offer optionsforthefuture.
