Este artículo pone el foco en sus usos fóricos de la nominalización en los discursos. Se inicia con la caracterización del proceso de nominalización y la enumeración de sus diversas funciones discursivas, que incluyen la referencia anafórica y catafórica. En el caso de la referencia catafórica, se hace un correlato con las funciones anafóricas distinguidas por López Samaniego (2013) y se diferencian las siguientes funciones catafóricas: (a) el establecimiento de un referente como punto de referencia, (b) el establecimiento de un punto de referencia, que se retomará luego en el hilo discursivo a través de una construcción dinámica, (c) el establecimiento de un punto de referencia con agrupamiento, que se desglosa luego en diversas facetas en el discurso y (d) el establecimiento de un punto de referencia que perfila a la vez que reifica una instancia de un evento que se enunciará completo posteriormente. Los usos anafóricos y catafóricos se ejemplifican con casos extraídos de artículos científicos recientes y se analizan desde las nociones de trayector, punto de referencia, figura y fondo desde la teoría de Langacker (2008, 2009).
This article describes and focuses on phoric uses of nominalization in discourses. It begins with the caracterization of this process and the enumeration of its various discursive functions, which include anaphoric and cataphoric reference. In the case of the cataphoric reference, a correlation with the anaphoric functions distinguished by López Samaniego (2013) is made, and the following cataphoric functions are distinguished: (a) the setting up of a referent as a reference point, (b) the setting up of a reference point, which will be taken up later in the discourse through a dynamic construction, (c) the setting up of a reference point with grouping, which is then broken down into various facets in the discourse and (d) the setting up of a reference point that outlines as well as reifies an instance of an event that will be fully enunciated later. The anaphoric and cataphoric uses are exemplified with cases taken from current scientific papers and they are analyzed from the notions of trajector, landmark, figure and ground, from Langacker's theory (2008, 2009).
