dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de este artículo será analizar la labor llevada a cabo por el embajador español en Roma (José Antonio de Sangróniz) y el consejero cultural (Mario Ponce de León) entre los años 1945 y 1952, en un esfuerzo por entender la acción cultural española hacia Italia en los primeros años tras el final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Al mismo tiempo, este artículo tratará de evaluar las consecuencias de la acción cultural española en Italia comprobando si fue capaz de cambiar las imágenes y percepciones que la sociedad italiana tenía de España. En este sentido, discutiremos las limitaciones de una política cultural que, a pesar del apoyo institucional que recibió formalmente, realmente no tenía claros unos objetivos a medio o largo plazo que fuesen más allá de la supervivencia del régimen de Franco.es
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this article will be to analyze the cultural strategy carried out by both the Spanish Ambassador in Rome (José Antonio de Sangróniz) and the Cultural Attaché (Mario Ponce de León) between 1945 and 1952. This will be done in an attempt to understand the Spanish cultural action towards Italy during the first years after the end of the Second World War. At the same time, this article will evaluate the consequences of the so called «Spanish cultural action» by assessing whether it managed to change the images and perceptions which the Italian society had on Spain. In this regard, the limitations of the Spanish cultural policy will also be discussed, proving that, despite the institutional support, it did not really have clear objectives beyond the mere survival of the regime.en
