Resumen
The present study focuses on pragmatic and discourse analytic methods to explore human communication and the decoding of meaning beyond literality or the idea of language as an idealization. I emphasize the significance of interaction as related to context by discussing discursive phenomena such as politeness, power, and affect, along with their roles in defining interpersonal relationships. My objective is to examine Mary Shelley’s literary work Frankenstein as an adequate source for the study of communicative strategies and patterns in relation to human nature. Finally, I intend to discuss the appropriateness of fiction and estrangement in engaging readers in an interactive process involving the conveyance and subsequent interpretation of messages.
