Publicación Identidad social, burnout y satisfacción laboral: estudio empírico basado en el modelo de la categorización del yo(Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje, 2006) Topa Cantisano, Gabriela Elba; Fernández Sedano, Iciar; Palací Descals, Francisco JoséEste estudio con trabajadores españoles de servicios de emergencias (N=151) pone a prueba un patrón de relaciones entre la identidad social, el burnout y la satisfacción laboral basadas en el modelo de la categorización del yo. Proponemos que la identificación organizacional y el burnout percibido tienen impacto directo en la satisfacción con los compañeros de trabajo y que ese impacto podría estar mediado por el apoyo social. Todas las relaciones pronosticadas se prueban simultáneamente usando las técnicas de modelado de ecuaciones estructurales. Los resultados de una serie de análisis efectuados con AMOS indican que el modelo postulado ajusta a los datos, pero que permanece una relación directa entre la identificación con el grupo y la satisfacción con los compañeros. Los resultados se discuten en orden a la integración conceptual y a la dirección de futuras intervenciones.Publicación Direct effect of personality traits and work engagement on job crafting: a structural model(Elsevier, 2023-12-21) Laguía González, Ana; Topa Cantisano, Gabriela Elba; Ricardo Filipe Da Silva Pocinho; Juan José Fernández MunozResearch in job crafting is relevant to creating healthier organizations and is attracting increasing attention. This study contributes to identifying the predictors of job crafting from a new conceptualization that considers three dimensions, i.e., job crafting towards strength, job crafting towards interests, and job crafting towards development. On this basis, the present study aims to explore two predictors of job crafting in the personal domain, the Big Five personality traits and Work Engagement. The study sample consists of 327 Spanish employees who completed standardized questionnaires. A Multiple Indicator Multiple Cause (MIMIC) like Structural Equational Model (SEM) was applied to the data. Results showed that job crafting towards strength was significantly and positively predicted by Work Engagement (dedication and absorption) as well as extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and intellect/imagination. Furthermore, job crafting towards interest was predicted by Work Engagement (absorption), extraversion, and intellect/imagination. Last, job crafting towards development was predicted by Work Engagement (dedication and absorption), agreeableness, conscientiousness, and intellect/ imagination. Vigor and neuroticism were unrelated to job-crafting dimensions. These findings can be useful for managers and organizations looking to facilitate job crafting as a means of promoting employees’ performance as well as satisfaction and well-being.Publicación CSR of stock markets companies and customers purchase intentions: An empirical analysis in Spain(Elsevier, 2024-05-06) Herrador Alcaide, Teresa Carmen; Topa Cantisano, Gabriela Elba; Juan José Fernández MuñozThis research explores the relationship between IBEX 35 Firms’ customers’ perceptions of CSR, their attributions of CSR activities, positive affect, and purchase intentions through two independent empirical studies. Study 1 (N= 560) explores the serial mediation of four types of attributions (value-driven, stakeholders-driven, strategic-driven, and egoistic-driven) in the relationships between CSR perceptions and Purchase intentions. Study 2 (N =831) explores the moderating role of positive affect on the relationships between CSR perceptions and purchase intentions mediated by attributions. Results indicate that customers’ perceptions of CSR positively influence their attributions of CSR to a company’s motives, which in turn positively influence their positive affect and purchase intentions. Positive affect was found to moderate the relationship between CSR attributions and purchase intentions. Findings highlight the importance of companies engaging in CSR activities to positively influence customers’ perceptions of the company’s motives, which can lead to increased positive affect and ultimately purchase intentions.Publicación Occupational Stress in nursing. Multiple groupe membership from a preventive perspective(Springer, 2019-12-20) Peña, Marta; Ramos, María Mercedes; Topa Cantisano, Gabriela ElbaThe study examines the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction, exploring the mediating role of engagement and multiple group membership in this relationship and if they could considerer them as a preventive variable of the others variables, in a sample of Spanish hospital nurses. A cross-sectional design was used, and a paper-pencil questionnaire survey with different scales to measure all the variables. To test our hypotheses, we conducted multiple linear regression analysis and the PROCESS macro for SPSS with Model 4. The main findings confirm a mediating role of engagement and multiple group membership in the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction. Nurses (N = 180) from a large public hospital in Spain participated in the study. The results extend previous findings with other populations. En este contexto se entiende la recuperación del trabajo (recovery) como contrapunto a los procesos de tensión a los que se ve sometida la persona en su puesto de trabajo. Dentro de las diferentes estrategias que los trabajadores ponen en marcha para recuperarse, resultan de especial relevancia las llevadas a cabo fuera de su horario laboral. El interés científico en esta materia queda patente en la publicación de numerosas revisiones sistemáticas en los últimos años. El objetivo de este estudio es clarificar y aportar evidencia sobre los resultados de las revisiones sistemáticas realizadas hasta la fecha. Así, se realizó una revisión paraguas de revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis sobre la recuperación laboral fuera del horario de trabajo. Para ello se llevó a cabo una búsqueda sistemática de documentos potencialmente relevantes en seis bases de datos, tanto temáticas como multidisciplinares. Se recuperaron ocho revisiones sistemáticas y metanálisis que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión establecidos. El análisis de contenido de los trabajos seleccionados permitió identificar diversas perspectivas o encuadres en el estudio de la recuperación laboral externa: (a) el período temporal; (b) las características del trabajo; (c) las experiencias de recuperación; (d) las actividades de recuperación; (e) los procesos que impiden que la recuperación sea efectiva; y (f) las variables cercanas al proceso de recuperación. Asimismo, se sistematizaron las principales variables sustantivas de naturaleza laboral y psicosocial consideradas en los diversos trabajos. Se discute la escasa atención prestada en los estudios revisados a las posibles diferencias culturales que podrían afectar al proceso de recuperación. Además, ninguna investigación hace mención especial a la pandemia por la COVID-19 en la recuperación laboral, ni tampoco a la potencial influencia de las nuevas realidades laborales en auge como el teletrabajo o los espacios virtuales compartidos (coworking).Publicación Work engagement: A meta-analysis using the job demands-resources model(Sage Journals, 2021-12-10) Mazzetti, Greta; Robledo, Enrique; Vignoli, Michela; Topa Cantisano, Gabriela Elba; Guglielmi, Dina; Schaufeli, Wilmar BAlthough the construct of work engagement has been extensively explored, a systematic meta-analysis based on a consistent categorization of engagement antecedents, outcomes, and well-being correlates is still lacking. The results of prior research reporting 533 correlations from 113 independent samples (k = 94, n = 119,420) were coded using a meta-analytic approach. The effect size for development resources (r =.45) and personal resources (r = .48) was higher than for social resources (r = .36) and for job resources (r = .37). Among the outcomes and well-being correlates explored, the effect size was highest for job satisfaction (r = .60) and commitment (r = .63). Furthermore, moderation analysis showed that (a) concerning the occupational role, work engagement finds a low association with turnover intention among civil servants, volunteer workers, and educators; (b) collectivist cultural environments reported a greater association of feedback with engagement than individualistic environments; (c) the relationship between personal resources and engagement was stronger among workers with university degrees than workers with high school diplomas. Furthermore, the absorption dimension showed a lower effect with all variables under investigation than vigor and dedication.Publicación Too soon to worry? Longitudinal examination of financial planning for retirement among Spanish aged workers(Public Library of Science, 2018-12-14) Palací Descals, Francisco José; Jiménez, Irene; Topa Cantisano, Gabriela ElbaThe present study analyzes the relationship between three distal antecedents—financial literacy, confidence in retirement, and economic well-being—and financial planning for retirement evaluated at two different times. We used longitudinal data with repeated measures of financial planning for retirement obtained from a sample (N = 269) of active Spanish workers aged 45–62 years. The results confirm that self-perceived financial knowledge, confidence in retirement, and economic well-being are associated with financial planning for retirement at three and six months. The stability of financial planning for retirement over time was a relevant finding in the present research, even though different measures have been employed in the two waves and financial planning decreases slightly at three months. While the first step of planning, at three months, has predictive power over the second, at six months, there are possible moderators in the relationship between financial planning for retirement at time 1 and time 2, which were not explored. The implications of the results both for financial education and Policy-makers are discussed. Al mismo tiempo procura poner de manifiesto las vinculaciones de la ruptura de contrato psicológico con el síndrome de burnout. El modelo modificado propone cinco dimensiones centrales de la situación laboral: características de la tarea, condiciones de trabajo, confianza organizacional, justicia interactual y ruptura percibida del contrato psicológico. Los resultados tomados en consideración son la satisfacción laboral, el burnout y las consecuencias para la salud. Todas las relaciones hipotetizadas se prueban simultáneamente usando las técnicas de modelado de ecuaciones estructurales. Los resultados de una serie de análisis efectuados con Amos indican que el modelo postulado ajusta bien a los datos. Los resultados se discuten en orden a la integración conceptual y a la dirección de futuras intervenciones.Publicación Cognitive and Affective Antecedents of Consumers’ Satisfaction: A Systematic Review of Two Research Approaches(MDPI, 2019-01-15) Palací Descals, Francisco José; Salcedo, Alejandro; Topa Cantisano, Gabriela ElbaThe study of consumers’ satisfaction has generated empirical research in the last few decades, with new challenges, such as a specific lens on online consumers’ satisfaction. During the last decades, two well-differentiated research traditions can be observed: cognitive and affective. A wide range of antecedents of consumers’ satisfaction has been proposed. The present contribution empirical research conducted under these two perspectives to determine which variables are related to satisfaction, the direction of these relationships, and the differences between the two dominant approaches. We conducted a systematic review of 104 empirical studies on consumers’ satisfaction published between 1975 and 2017. The findings showed that both the cognitive and the affective tradition yield statistically significant precursors of satisfaction. A comparison between empirical studies exploring consumers’ satisfaction in traditional versus by Internet purchasing behavior showed an increasing relevance of cognitive facets in traditional consumer behavior. Empirical evidence exploring differences between consumers’ satisfaction with purchasing goods versus hiring services showed that both cognitive and affective predictors strongly impact when services are hired versus consuming goods. This article concludes with a discussion of these results and their implications.
