PublicaciĆ³n Education of the young according to the humanist, Johann Funger(Elsevier, 2011-01-01) Comella GutiĆ©rrez, BeatrizJohann Funger is a Dutch renaissance scholar, author of āThe Correct Training and Education of the Youngā, published in Antwerp (Belgium) by Christoffel Plantin in 1584. The original Latin text has recently been translated into Spanish and consists of thirty chapters. In his book, Funger deals with the contents of the studies, the intellectual habits of pupils, the virtues they should attain and the vices they should avoid.PublicaciĆ³n Vincent of Beauvais and Navarre. He holds a PhD in History of Education at the University of Navarra (1986), also with Honours. He is currently Professor in the Department of History of Education and Comparative Education at the National University of Distance Education in Madrid (UNED) and Visiting Professor at the University of Navarra. Was Fellow Researcher Institutum Historicum Societatis Iesu in Rome (IHSI) and since 2005 Director of the Group of Medieval and Renaissance Studies (GEMYR). This study shows not only political but also cultural relations, of Navarre with France and Castile. Se estudiarĆ”n el conjunto de los libros teolĆ³gicos y especialmente los ejemplares de la Sagrada Escritura, a fin de comprobar si respondĆan al perfil de un calvinista de primera hora. Para responder a estas cuestiones, previamente, tratarĆ© de contextualizar todos estos hechos en la Historia de la EducaciĆ³n medieval.PublicaciĆ³n Social psychology at the Royal School of St Elizabeth in Madrid(Elsevier, 2011-01-01) Comella GutiĆ©rrez, BeatrizThis paper presents the major ideas on social psychology at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th at the Royal School of St Elizabeth (Real Colegio de Santa Isabel) in Madrid. First of all, the school reflects the different social strata: pupils from the upper and lower classes. Secondly, within the framework of a predominantly Christian culture, the interest in universal education was manifested in providing free education to the more disadvantaged pupils in Madrid at that time. It was a society that respected the social strata, projecting differential psychology of diverse characteristics depending on the social class. The pupils from the upper class received the type of education that reflected their social status, while the curriculum for the lower class reflected their own social status. These differences were mitigated as the culture gave rise to a global social psychology whose exponent is the school presented here.PublicaciĆ³n Mujeres del Opus Dei doctoras en TeologĆa en las Universidades de Navarra y Pontificia de la Santa Cruz (1973-2018)(Istituto Storico San JosemarĆa EscrivĆ”, 2022) Comella GutiĆ©rrez, BeatrizEste trabajo trata de esclarecer los motivos que llevaron al fundador del Opus Dei a impulsar los estudios de doctorado en TeologĆa por parte de mujeres de la Obra, principalmente con el fin de formar a profesoras para impartir los estudios institucionales de FilosofĆa y TeologĆa en los Studia Generalia. He studied at the Collegium Trilingue, Leuven and in Cologne. He was a doctor of both (civil and canon) laws, but especially, a teacher at the Latin Grammar Schools in his native Frisia. He was an admirer of Cicero, Seneca and Quintilian, disciple of Agricola and Erasmus, Melanchthon and Calvin. He is the author of 16 works, most of which were on philology and were published in the Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy.
