El proyecto de un monumento siempre era fruto de una idea arquitectónica que reflejaba la voluntad del promotor, sobre todo en el caso de proyectos de gran magnitud. Por ello, era fundamental mantenerse fiel al proyecto; del mismo modo, devenía esencial el instrumento de transmisión que facilitaba el diálogo entre arquitectos y promotores, arquitectos y talleres y, finalmente, entre capataces y obreros, es decir, los dibujos explicativos, las líneas guías o los trazados. En este trabajo se presentan algunas consideraciones derivadas del estudio de líneas guías de proyecto sobre material lapídeo, en cuanto instrumento de transmisión de ideas y prestigio a través de la arquitectura. Se toman como referencia dos monumentos excepcionales de la Pérgamo de época adrianea: el Templo de Zeus-Asclepio y la Sala Roja. Ambos están ligados estrechamente a la ideología y a la policía del emperador Adriano. Además, su imagen arquitectónica se caracteriza de manera significativa por la influencia recíproca de la tradición arquitectónica griega y romana, por lo que constituyen uno de los ejemplos más significativos en los que la transmisión de la idea arquitectónica y la fidelidad hacia esta representan un elemento aún más relevante.Drawing up the design of a building is the basic, preliminary step for its construction. The plan for a monument has always depended on an architectural idea that reflects the initiative of the investor, especially in large building projects. Therefore, it is fundamental to stay true to the plan. It is essential the instrument employed for transmitting the idea and facilitating communication between the architect and the investor, the architect and the workshops and, finally, the master builder and the workforce: it is represented by explanatory drawings, marked guidelines and incised preparatory lines on the building material. In this paper we present some deliberations on the marking of guidelines on stone building material as a means of transmitting ideas and prestige through architecture. We reference two exceptional Hadrianic-period monuments at Pergamon: the temple of Zeus-Asclepius and the Red Hall. Both buildings are intimately linked to the ideology and politics of the emperor Hadrian. Moreover, within a building context significantly characterised by the mutual influence of Greek and Roman architectural traditions, together the monuments constitute one of the most meaningful examples of the transmission of an architectural idea.
