Celebramos con este breve texto su esforzada vida, su estimulante obra, su actitud renovadora y su generosidad, cuando se cumple el centenario de su nacimiento y el décimo aniversario de su fallecimiento. Para ello recordaremos algunos rasgos de su vida personal y profesional haciendo uso de su obra escrita y de algunos materiales inéditos.Francisco Jordá Cerdá (1914-2004) was one of the most important twentieth-century Spanish prehistorians. He was one of the most prominent representatives the intermediate generation that connected the prehistory of the early decades of the twentieth century with the scientists who govern and administer the discipline since the eighties. He was also a fertile researcher and a beloved teacher; groundbreaking in his ideas, refined in scientific criticism and a genuine liberal. We celebrate with this short text, when the centenary of his birth and the tenth anniversary of his death is fulfilled, his hard life, his stimulating work, his innovative attitude and generosity.
