This text explores the cultural, poetic, and narrative power of riddles and enigmas, emphasizing their capacity to stimulate imagination, disrupt conventional logic, and generate storytelling. It connects riddles to popular narrative forms such as jokes, legends, and tales of wit, highlighting how the enigma can serve as the generative core of the narrative. In this context, the text analyzes a subcategory of micro-stories and legends centered on the paradox of «the dead who kills the living» in which the inanimate gains agency, challenging the boundaries between life and death. Finally, the text underscores how riddles, which aid humans in discovering new, creative, and playful perspectives on reality, tend to confound artificial intelligence, which often produces unsatisfactory responses.
