Spain's economic recovery in the decades following the post‐war period sought to overcome this through national action plans. The agrarian colonisation policies are the last phase of a complex historical project that has bequeathed us 300 colonisation villages. The rich repertoire of contemporary art in mosaics and tiles made by married couples of artists is the subject of research and the result of an updated inventory. Their location and commentary are the result of a method based on cross‐referencing sources, based on on‐site visits to the villages, which has provided an updated inventory associated with the civic spaces. The results achieved after a stylistic comparative work have revealed unknown authorship, opening up both the discussion on anonymity and the collection of social values embodied in an iconography typical of the National Institute of Colonisation. With all this, the aim is to evaluate the plastic ensemble of an equitable group of seven artists of both sexes, as well as the admission and dispersion of works born of innovation and the hope of progress.
